APRICOT BARS

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar — packed
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup apricot nectar or orange juice
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 egg — slightly beaten
1/2 cup dried apricots — finely chopped
Icing:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons apricot nector or orange juice — (2 to 3)

Mix dry ingredients. Add liquid and stir until just combined. Stir in apricots. Spread in ungreased 11 x 7 x 1 1/2 inch baking dish. Bake 350° about 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool. Drizzle with Apricot Icing. Cut into bars.

Icing: Stir together ingredients.

Yield: “24 bars”
