FRENCH VANILLA ICE CREAM

2 cups milk
3 eggs — beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup cream
2 teaspoons vanilla

Mix sugar, salt, and eggs. Pour on milk. Cook in double boiler until mixture coats spoon. Cool. Strain, add cream and vanilla and freeze in ice cream freezer.

Yield: “1 1/4 quarts”
