MOM'S MOLASSES COOKIES
Recipe By : Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time: 0:00 Categories : Cookie 1 1/2 cups shortening 1/2 cup molasses 2 cups sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon cloves 1 teaspoon ginger 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1 teaspoon salt 4 cups flour Melt shortening (we use Crisco) and let cool. Add molasses, sugar, and eggs. Beat well. Mix in dry ingredients. chill. form 1 inch balls, roll in granulated sugar, and place on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Flatten balls with bottom of a glass with wax paper under it. Bake at 375° for about 8 to 10 minutes (depends on whether you like them crispy or soft). Immediately place cookies on rack to cool. Yield: "4 dozen"
