Serves 6 – 8
2 – 3 pears
4 large eggs
1/3 cup sugar
2 Tbl. butter, melted
1 cup Half and Half
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 teaspoon ginger
Preheat oven to 350º. Spray a 9†pie dish with cooking spray. Peel and core pears; set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients. Pour a thin layer of egg mixture into pie dish. Layer pears over the egg mixture and pour remaining mixture over the pears. Bake 45 – 50 minutes or until top is lightly browned.
Serve warm.
Variation: Add one can of drained sour cherries to pear slices. Pour remaining egg mixture over the fruit.
